Condition guide
Every raw listing on the marketplace uses these five grades. Sellers agree to grade to this standard when they list; buyers can open a condition dispute if a card arrives below the listed grade. When in doubt, grade down.
Near Mint
Looks pack-fresh at arm's length. At most one or two minor flaws visible under close inspection.
- All four corners sharp; no whitening visible without magnification
- Surface clean: no scratches, print lines acceptable only if factory-caused
- Edges smooth with at most a fleck of whitening on the back
- Centering roughly 60/40 or better both directions
- No creases, bends, or wax stains of any kind
Lightly Played
Minor wear you notice when you look for it: light corner touches, slight edge whitening, or minor surface scuffs.
- Slight fuzzing or whitening on up to two corners
- Light edge whitening front or back
- Minor surface wear: faint scuffs or a small print snag, no creases
- Centering may be off (up to ~70/30)
- Still displays well in a binder or top loader
Moderately Played
Wear is obvious at a glance: soft corners, notable edge wear, surface scratching, or a very light crease.
- Multiple soft or lightly whitened corners
- Moderate edge wear visible from the front
- Surface scratching or gloss loss; one faint crease acceptable
- Centering may be heavily off (80/20)
- Solid filler copy for set builders
Heavily Played
Significant wear: rounded corners, heavy whitening, creases that don't break the surface, staining, or writing on the back.
- Rounded or heavily whitened corners
- One or more visible creases (surface intact)
- Heavy scratching, gloss loss, or minor staining
- May have minor writing or a light wax stain on the back
- Displays poorly but the card is complete
Damaged
Structural damage: creases breaking the surface, tears, water damage, paper loss, writing on the front, or trimming.
- Creases that crack the card surface, or folds
- Tears, pin holes, or paper loss anywhere
- Water damage, heavy staining, or major writing
- Altered or trimmed cards must be listed DMG with disclosure
- Priced accordingly — full disclosure keeps trust high
Photo policy
Catalog renders show the parallel, not your exact copy. To protect higher-value purchases, a photo of the actual card is required for any listing of a parallel numbered /99 or lower, and for any listing priced $20 or more.
